Welcome

The UC India Alumni Association exists to inspire pride, foster loyalty and cultivate support for the University of Cincinnati.

May 19, 2006

Dear University of Cincinnati graduate!

I am proud of the progress of UC India Alumni Association during 2006-08. It has created a platform and a special opportunity to bring us together with successful UC graduates contributing to India. We need to stay in touch. We are continuously updating our Alumni list with information shared by you.

This way we may work on the opportunities through continued involvements. The newsletter offers a way of life long connecting with fellow alumni. This is also on the website: http://www.ucalumni.in

UC India Alumni Association with headquarters in Kolkata in early 2006 was formed with initial support of UC International. We believe thousands of UC India graduates active professionally in USA may also support the India strategy. Alumni in clusters were discovered in Pune, Chennai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Kharagpore, Allahabad, Jaipur, Ahmedabad, Baroda, Chandigarh and Mumbai. Unfortunately we lack their current details. If you are aware of their current details please share the information. UC, in spite of it being a high ranking, large, beautiful university with many new changes taking place has large Indian faculty and is the first university to employ Neil who went to the moon. An university with state-of-the-art facilities where one can design one’s own course. There is lack of visibility in India of the Indian faculty at UC. Nevertheless, every year hundreds of Indians graduate from UC, yet no list of successful alumni’s is available.

PUNE UC INDIA ALUMNI GROUP has been very active! They orgaised 2006 annual dinner meet where Dr. Mitch Leventhal, Vice Provost International at the University of Cincinnati was the chief guest. Again on January 2008, they hosted a luncheon meet with a senior human rights Professor Howard Tolley interacted with nearly fifteen alumni (including family) and with media elaborating his research in India. Now the Bangalore group is getting organized. We wish them success.

The UC India Alumni Association has attempted various projects in 2006-08. The Interim President is trying to facilitate a viable leadership group of volunteer alumnus who will ultimately run the UC India Alumni Association. We invite you to send your
thoughts ,stories, photographs, tidbits, anecdotes, adventures, innovation and other professional contribution to be placed on the web. Best Wishes to you and families for 2008.

I would be more than happy to discuss how we can help each other realize our objectives. To arrange a consultation contact me:
